Set off from Lisbon on a 12- to 14-hour private trip to Aveiro, Coimbra and Fátima. This itinerary combines waterfront cityscapes, academic heritage and one of Portugal’s leading pilgrimage destinations. In Aveiro, stroll along the canals and watch the moliceiro boats. If you wish, you can take a moliceiro boat ride, available at an extra cost and subject to the service operating. There will be time to discover local traditions and the city’s flavors; shopping and purchases are not included. Continue to Coimbra, where the university and historic streets reveal centuries of academic life. The Joanina Library, the Old Cathedral and the Monastery of Santa Cruz are highlights of the itinerary, with optional indoor visits depending on the time available and tickets booked. In Fátima, visit the Sanctuary, the Chapel of the Apparitions and the basilicas, and enjoy the atmosphere of the site before returning to Lisbon. Stops are arranged to suit the group’s pace and the day’s schedule. Pickup and drop-off are in the Lisbon area, at an agreed location. Meals, the boat ride, paid admissions and personal expenses are not included. As this is a long itinerary, we recommend deciding in advance which visits are a priority.
